Monthly Art Music Saint Studies

November Artist, Composer, and Saint

It went from an autumn warm breeze to winter’s blast in a week.  We have been hunkered down in the house enjoying hot chocolate, home-made bread (gluten-free of course), and gingerbread cookies (also gluten-free).  As I was trying to find an image that personified our life right now I came across “One of the Family” by Fredrick Cotman.  We have a dog, two ducks, and two fish.  While the fish are only for the pleasure of looking at our other pets are definitely part of our family.  Enjoy!

November Saint is Saint George:  A soldier in the Roman Army who scolded the Emperor of his cruel treatment of Christians.  He was martyred for his courage.  Usually depicted as a knight killing a dragon this saint is one all boys would love to here more about!                                                                                                        http://www.catholic.org/saints/saint.php?saint_id=280
